Paintings and Sculptures
There is much to gain from learning, understanding, being mutually inspired and accepting differences across the art forms.
Interestingly enough, musicians and artists both use terms as repetition, balance, dialogue, intensity or variety.
Musicians hear colors, “timbres”, textures, density. They play lines and dots in music and artists see rhythm patterns, harmonies or chords and clusters in their paintings.
I distinctly see how music plays out in my art and how my painting has changed my approach to music towards more sensuousness and abstraction at the same time. Maybe my grand-uncle, Heiner Buchert, who was a harpist and painter plays through my genes...
